Our Oakhill Family
At Oakhill Nursery we welcome our families and extended families to be part of the Oakhill family community and the learning journey of their little one/s.
As a community, the nursery has strong links with Oakhill independent school where children who attend the nursery are able to take advantage of a generous discount if they continue onto the school. Being part of this family community means we have access to the sports hall where children can enjoy physical activity using the apparatus provided, a dance studio, millennium hall where the children often have music sessions and Spanish which is brought into the nursery by the language teacher from Oakhill independent school. We are also lucky enough to be supported by three SENCO’s one based in nursery and two in school.

Where is Oakhill Nursery School?
Oakhill Nursery School is housed in a modern, purpose-built building within the impressive grounds of Oakhill School, Whalley in the beautiful Ribble Valley.
Oakhill Nursery is based in the very same building and the nursery children visit our Reception classroom throughout the year, so for those joining us from the nursery, the transition to Reception at age 4 is seamless and often an exciting one.
Our Facilities
Oakhill Nursery is set within spacious unique woodland grounds, surrounded by trees that features a stream and an abundance of wildlife for us to explore with all our children from the very small babies to the pre-schoolers. We believe in the importance of outdoor play and the resilience, team work and independent learning it promotes.
We have six large rooms within the nursery starting with our youngest in the infants which then move through to babies, toddlers, nursery and two preschool rooms. At Oakhill Nursery, we pride ourselves in offering your children the best possible start in life through our highly qualified and experienced staff team which boasts many staff holding their foundation degrees in early childhood studies, an early years professional and two fully qualified primary school teachers who are specialists in the early years. This combined with the rich learning environment both indoors and out is the perfect place to learn those vital skills in order to be school ready.
In order to enhance children’s cultural capital we also have large pushchairs so we can take the children into the village community and feed the ducks, in addition to this we have an Oakhill Minibus where we can explore the wider community.
Our Nursery Day
At Oakhill Nursery every child is recognised and respected as an individual. We encourage children to show respect for each other and for the people they meet. Excellent care, individually tailored educational activities and a stimulating environment all combine to make Oakhill Nursery and Early Years the right choice for your child. Additional facilities include extensive grounds, allocated parking for nursery parents and the use of qualified teaching staff from the Main School for some subjects.
Parent Information
The Oakhill nursery is open for 50 weeks of the year and offers childcare from 7.30a.m. until 6.00p.m. Children can come for full days, morning or afternoon sessions.
We are also registered for LCC free 15 hours and 30 hour nursery entitlement and accept all childcare vouchers and Tax Free Childcare.
