Year 10 and 11 Geographers headed to Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales to complete the first day of their GCSE physical fieldwork. The students were studying the River Wharfe to see if it matched the ‘Bradshaw Model’. The students and staff had lots of fun investigating 4 sites on the river. They will now spend their next few lessons presenting and analysing their data in their Geography class. Miss Rawlinson, Mr Peel and Mrs Johnson accompanied the group and were really impressed with their resilience and sense of humour in pretty cold and damp conditions. There was a LOT of lovely homemade cake provided by staff and James one of our year 11 students to keep up the morale! We are looking forward to planning a human geography field trip to Manchester in the near future.
