This year’s competition from the Lancashire Schools Games was to design a baton to be passed in a relay at the games – just like in the Commonwealth Games relay before it begins later this year.

 

Year 5 entered their designs after first looking at previous batons used for other opening ceremonies. And….we are really pleased and proud to announce that one of our designs was chosen as the overall winner!

 

Scarlett’s design was picked out from all the entries. Well done, Scarlett- an amazing achievement! Scarlett has been invited to attend as a VIP guest at the Games festival in Blackpool in July. We can’t wait to hear all about it!
